Bar D Brewhouse in San Saba

Great service and burger. Good selection of unique "in house" brewed beers. Had the jalapena infused Hoppin. Ask the owner to try his "morning after hangover" recipe.

Great food in a fun very informal, Texas countryside environment. I had the Bar D dip— with excellent flavor and meat — and my wife had the Fritos Pie — also great. Good COVID 19 protocols in place as well. 4 stars just because it’s not a fancy place with great parking, etc.

Food and the beer is good, Hoppin Jalapeno is my favorite beer!

It was perfect...loved the hoppin jaleneno beer and catfish and trimmings..DIVINE...HIGHLY RECOMMEND!...SERVICE GREAT!

I was finally in town when they were open and we were needing a bite to eat. Great food and the beer we had was good as well. Definitely going back to try some more of their beers!

Small town, big menu. Unexpectedly good food and service, doesn't look like much from the outside but go on in and get a bite

We waited 1 hour 10 minutes for food was not fit to eat the waiter was drinking beer while worklng I will not be back

Horrible place! The roof leaks, the chicken fried steak tastes freezer burned, and the Ranch King Chicken Special... it's NO special, they ran out so only one tiny sliver of chicken and the rest they used tortilla cut up. If you run out of something, have the waitress let the customer KNOW, not have to over hear it from another table. Please instead of stretching something, offer something else. It was unpleasant for us and we live here and talk to people constantly. That's NOT how you run a restaurant. We obviously don't plan on coming back. Disgusting guys, you can do better than that.

I really liked the atmosphere, the food was ok at best. I had the barbecue chicken sandwich and expect more. My co worker had the chicken fried steak and could not eat much of it

Homemade root beer was good. We were recommended this place but the atmosphere did not make me want to eat there.

Looks like a garage, the beer is really good the burger we had too. The people, guests and staff, all together net, only to be recommended.

Surprisingly great place! Go on Fridays for the all you can eat catfish! Delicious and reasonably priced. We started with chips and salsa which is fantastic, then tried the queso, WOW! Handcrafted beers are worth the drive (We came from Wimberley). Get there early to guarantee a seat, because fills up quick with locals and tourists alike. We're planning our next road trip to San Saba around the Bar D!

The catfish was great, spicy beans, coleslaw just right. Best catfish I've had in a long time. Beers on tap, the best.

All the shrimp you can eat, cold. Not a fan of cold fried shrimp. Apparently no refill on tea Won't be going back there😵

Excellent service with an awesome assortment of homebrewed craft beer. The patrons are just as enjoyable as the employees.

The food was great, the Root Beer was out of this world, but the chicken tenders.... Oh, my goodness! I'll either have to make a trip back there just for a bucket of their chicken tenders or try to talk them into airmailing them to Round Rock. Wow!

The Best Little Brew House in #TheHillCountry #SanSaba. Great Lunch specials, Friday night is ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT-CATFISH. Saturday, is Fried Shrimp. The Brew created by Larry are unique and tasty...my personal favorite is Double Down Brown. If you are in San Saba, drop in and say Dan sent you. ENJOY!
